Koss’s humanitarian side was demonstrated by an altruistic gesture after the Winter Games, when the top speedskater donated substantial victory bonuses of about $30,000 to the Olympic Aid fund. Later on he became the chairman of Olympic Aid, currently known as Right2Play. This organisation brings sports to children in regions where people suffer from terrible things like war, food shortages and chronical poverty.
